These projects range from national convenings with more than 500 participants to board-level strategy sessions. Most of these clients have hired me more than once.

Forest Workforce Summit
Co-designed and facilitated a two-day statewide workforce summit for the Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI) in Bend, Oregon, in May 2026, convening approximately fifty leaders from across the state's forest sector. The summit examined what it will take to sustain a workforce adequate to Oregon's forest sector needs at a moment when federal funding is contracting and an aging workforce is retiring without clear successors.

Ponderosa Pine Utilization Summit
Co-designed and facilitated the Ponderosa Pine Utilization Summit in November 2025, convening 120+ forestry leaders from across the Western U.S. in partnership with the Council of Western State Foresters and Forest Stewards Guild. Co-authored the resulting Ponderosa Pine Action Plan.

9th American Forest Congress
Designed and facilitated the 9th American Forest Congress, co-convened by American Forests and the Doris Duke Foundation and guided by a cross-sector steering committee. Under the theme Healthy Forests, Thriving Communities, the Congress brought together more than 500 participants to build a unified vision for the U.S. forestry community and consensus-driven directions for stewarding the nation's forests at a moment of accelerating wildfire, ecological disturbance, and economic strain.

Reforestation & Resilient Forests - American Forests
Worked with American Forests and the Forest Service from 2022-2023 on efforts to restore resilient forests on Western public lands. Facilitated six regional workshops that produced reforestation implementation plans.

Outdoor Recreation Strategy - Foundation for America's Public Lands
Worked with the Foundation for America’s Public Lands and the Bureau of Land Management on the agency’s new Blueprint for 21st Century Outdoor Recreation. Advised on national strategy, designed and facilitated partner roundtables, and engaged key organizations in the rollout.

Wildfire Resilience Policy & Facilitation - The Nature Conservancy
Supported The Nature Conservancy and Aspen Institute in their partnership to improve wildfire resilience. Designed and facilitated a series of five policy workshops over the course of a year, culminating in a summit in Jackson Hole in September, 2022. The workshops and summit resulted in comprehensive policy recommendations to get ahead of the growing wildfire crisis. See an example of the workshops here.

Facilitation & Policy Analysis - Council of Western State Foresters
Facilited the spring and fall meetings of the Council of Western State Foresters and Western Forestry Leadership Coalition from 2022 through 2025. Analyzed the declining availability of prescribed fire liability insurancen and presented the findings at the National Association of State Foresters annual meeting in September, 2022.

Rural Community Program Support - The Wilderness Society
Advised The Wilderness Society on their rural communities program in 2022, providing overall strategic planning advice, and technical assistance and capacity support in three pilot communities - Salmon, ID; Darrington, WA; and Lincoln, MT.

Blueprint for Southeast Alaska - Sitka Conservation Society
As the Biden administration prepared to take office in early 2021, The Alaska Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and Sitka Conservation Society, wanted to develop a collaborative vision for community based conservation on the Tongass National Forest. I worked with the Meridian Institute, SCS and TNC to prepare a Blueprint for Southeast Alaska, and helped ensure incoming leadership understood the opportunity.

Strategic Advisor - USDA
Worked with USDA Natural Resources and the Environment team as they rolled out a new economic investment strategy in Southeast Alaska. Supported the Interagency Wildfire Resilience Working Group as it navigated the surge in federal funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, including conceiving of a widely adopted visual diagram illustrating the suite of investments across government agencies and opportunities for an all-of-government approach.
